have you thought about attempting to set up new bands? aquire a bunch of talented artists, shuffle them around into bands that get along and work, give them somewhere to jam together(like bars with open jam night), and then maybe take a management percentage?

Yeah, this has been a thought of mine for a while. I tried it out a while back. My biggest problem was that I didn't know a lot of artists already, and I didn't have a lot of time to chase them.

Those that were decent were already in bands, or already had management. Those that couldn't hold a tune, just wanted to sit in the studio and pretend they were musicians, or rock stars, or whatever was going through their heads.

I remember one DJ that came in to record a demo to shop-around at bars and clubs. He came in, recorded, and the next day his phone was mysteriously disconnected. He never came back, and never returned my calls, and never tried to pick up the demo he recorded. Nor did he ever pay me

In either case, my biggest concern these days is time.

I'll throw out the open call though. If you can play, and you want a free place to record, let me know. I'll hook you up with what I can. Same if you are looking for a gig, lawyer, demo, air-play, promotion, whatever I can help you with.

fyi frost, your DA email gets filtered through rollernet now, so _most_ spam is killed off before it hits the server.

Austin is full of situations like this. Music capital of the world as it's said. It's not everywhere where someone like Trent Reznor plays in an establishment who's capacity is like 200...
